Framework programme with a multi-billion euro envelope, delivered through themed Bekanntmachungen (calls) on quantum computing, quantum sensing, quantum communication and enabling technologies. Per-project funding rates for companies are typically 25-50% for SMEs under state aid rules.

Deadline: One call a year — Individual calls (Bekanntmachungen) each have their own deadlines; e.g. the Quantum Computing Competition call of 7 April 2026 (Modules A and B, funding for SMEs and research partners in consortia of about five partners). Required applicant own share is 'angemessene Eigenbeteiligung' per BMFTR principles.
