German federal computer games funding

Non-repayable grant: large companies up to 25%, SMEs up to 45%, young start-ups (up to 3 years) up to 50% of project costs. Minimum project size EUR 300,000. A draft application and mandatory draft approval (Entwurfsabnahme) with the Projektträger precede the final application.

Deadline: Open all year — Open: applications are processed in order of receipt (second Förderaufruf valid from 18 July 2025). Requires a cultural test and USK age rating. Violent glorifying games and gambling are excluded.
